This will involve building up detailed knowledge about local employability organisations, the types of pre-employment activity that they provide, and the ways in which they involve employers.

It would also be useful if you have an understanding of what is involved for employers for each activity in terms of:

• Time commitment required
• Support available to the employer
• Length of commitment expected
• Resources available to employers
• Client group

This will help you to signpost employers to an activity and organisation that is most appropriate to their interests and capacity.
