It will help if you can direct employers to appropriate sources of support and training, to help them establish procedures for the retention and development of staff.

Remember that employers from small businesses will be more inclined to make changes if they can make them quickly and easily, and get the right help.

You should be able to provide information about:

  • Organisations that can provide training on working with priority groups to managers.
  • Where they can access awareness training for staff on issues such as disability and mental health.
  • The type and level of in-work support provided by local employability organisations.
  • Employment guides, toolkits and websites related to specific issues (e.g. disability, mental health, visual impairment).
