In addition to the national employment support organisations outlined above there will be a range of local providers that will be able to offer a variety of services to employers in the context of recruiting from priority groups.

HWL advisors will need to be familiar with the employability projects that are operating within their local area in order to be able to provide a co-ordinated service to local employers.

Glasgow
Some of the main providers of employability services are the five local regeneration agencies.

  • Glasgow South East
  • Glasgow West
  • Glasgow East
  • Glasgow South
  • Glasgow North

Contact details for the regeneration agencies can be found at: http://www.easglasgow.com/about/regenerationagencies.html

The Equal Access to Employment website has a database of 300 employability projects based in Glasgow.

Edinburgh
The Joined Up for Jobs website - http://www.joinedupforjobs.org.uk/directory/ - has an online directory of employability projects operating in Edinburgh.

In other areas the local Workforce Plus Partnerships are likely to currently be working on developing a directory of services and links to these will be added to the toolkit as they become available.
