The overall aim of any strategy for marketing and employer engagement should be for you and your organisation to build ongoing positive relationships with individual employers.
But it is important to recognise that this will take time, planning, resources and effort on your part – making limited one-off contacts with local business is unlikely to be very successful.
It will help if you:
- Plan and develop a range of ways of engaging with employers.
- Keep in touch with individual employers once you have made the initial contact.
- Make sure that you keep them up to date with what your organisation is doing – tell them about new services and invite them to events.
- Keep a record of the contact that you have with each employer and make sure your colleagues have access to it as well – this will help to avoid duplicate approaches and make sure that everyone is kept up to date.
