You will find that some of the activities related to pre-employment could link to other aspects of the Healthy Working Lives Awards. The ‘Promote community health and well-being’ criterion contains activities concerned with supporting staff volunteering with local organisations and providing mentoring support; all of which could be achieved by involvement with pre-employment initiatives.

For Example:

  • Involvement with an employability project to support people with mental health problems
  • Putting in place procedures to allow staff to volunteer their time with an employability organisation
  • Encouraging staff to provide mentoring support to clients from employability projects
